The Wastes was written predominately during Winter 2023. The vision for the album was indie synth rock presented with a loose, analog aesthetic. Cassette tape processed keyboards, lo-fi synth basslines, driving guitar riffs, and rock drums accented with dusty drum machine beats.

Originally set to be released Summer 2024, The Wastes was sidelined for Corruptor and the 10 year anniversary of the debut SuperScience album, Redeemer. The Wastes remained sidelined until now.

Bad Wolf is the sole track not written specifically for this album. The original demo dates all the way back to 2014, written sometime between Redeemer and Blood.
